In May 2026, Barbara Adamiak, MA, and Irena Kultijasowa, MA, English language lecturers at the Academic Foreign Language Center of the University of Lomza, visited the University of Ljubljana as part of the Erasmus+ STT (Staff Training) teaching mobility. The general purpose of the visit—in addition to conducting English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes for Nursing students—was to get acquainted with the university's operational principles and best practices in teaching ESP, exchange experiences, learn about a different culture, and establish contacts for further cooperation. Comparing the curricula, as well as the rules for conducting and passing classes, was particularly interesting, as this was the first visit of foreign language lecturers under the Erasmus+ STT program at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Ljubljana.
The mobility program included meetings with representatives of the International Cooperation Office of the Faculty of Health Sciences, participation in a graduation ceremony, and... observing a student street race during the Sports Day organized by the authorities of the University of Ljubljana.
An additional benefit was a meeting with the participants of the Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) Midwifery International Week: Perinatal Mental Health and Midwifery Wellbeing, as well as a visit to a maternity hospital in Postojna, which was conducted in English by the hospital staff.
Erasmus+ STT teaching mobilities serve as a great inspiration for further activities aimed at introducing innovative solutions in the didactic field and internationalizing the academic community of the University of Lomza.
