University of Lomza is a young and modern institution recognizable in the country and in the region as the center of education of specialists – practitioners. In significant way the School contributes to the economic and intellectual development of the region, raises the level of education of its citizens and growth in number of graduates. The School attracts students from North – Eastern Poland and abroad by its wide educational opportunities. We provide different levels and forms of education such as: bachelor and master degree programs, postgraduate programs, courses, seminars and conferences for both intramural and extramural studies. We reinforce internationalization in accordance with the national educational policy. The key factor of our international policy is the development of cooperation with European and cross-border countries: Belarus, Ukraine and Russia, Asian countries: China, India and Taiwan and American countries: United States and Canada.

University of Lomza puts the enhancement of internationalization indexes as its strategic goal, which will be carried out by the following activities:

• Extension of the didactic offer in the scope of inter-institutional cooperation agreements.
• Increasing the number of mobile students and academic staff by promotion of teaching and training mobility and the recognition of such activities in professional individual career.  
• Participation in the international projects, intensive courses, summer schools and study visits to create joint study programs and degrees.
• Development of new formsof cooperation by cross-border exchange and mobility.  
• Assurance of efficient acknowledgement of ECTS, diploma supplement and other achievements, within the European Qualifications Framework.
• Provision of study programs available in foreign languages, mainly in technical studies and humanities.
• Putting the e-learning and distance learning education into practice.
• Increasing the disabled and underrepresented mobility.

The School will continue to be a lifelong learning organization and the center of know-how, responding to the needs of the region and the country aware of its special role in cross-border development and internationalization.
One of the significant objectives of our School is to develop and sustain close cooperation with local businesses, which has already resulted in the establishment of Council of Practitioners in the Institutes of Business Administration and Computer Science.

Academic mobility activities

Every participating academic unit has an Erasmus Coordinator to support incoming and outgoing students and staff with their exchange activities. The Institutional Erasmus Coordinator has supervision of the entire Program. The units may undertake monitoring visits to partner institutions to assess the exchange activity. The School has produced its own Study Guide for exchange students. We are fully committed to a comprehensive Equal Opportunities Policy in order to create working and learning environment.
Study programs are described on the basis of learning outcomes and are graded with the ECTS. All programs are validated through the School quality assurance process.
Incoming students receive details about specific course options and credit values from the IRO and Departmental Coordinators. Free English language classes are available at the Foreign Language Department.
Opportunities for staff mobility are promoted regularly within each unit.

Traineeship Mobility

Student placement is an integral part of study programs. Placement arrangements, evaluation and monitoring will be implemented by our School and foreign partners. The recruitment procedure is based on the following criteria:

• students’ language competence,
• academic achievements,
• involvement in student associations and School community life.

The coordinators assist students in choosing appropriate host organization, duration of stay and will assure that the work-program is adequate to the study program. Logistic support: travel arrangements, visa, accommodation, work permits, insurance is provided by IRO.
Full recognition is given to the students for satisfactory completed activities and submitted report. Students will be awarded by Euro-pass Mobility certificate as an official confirmation of achieved qualifications and skills. The Erasmus placement activity is shown in

Diploma Supplement

The School will popularize ECHE, EPS and the Program activities by using promotional activities (Open Days, information packages, the School magazine). Very important part of the visibility of ECHE, EPS and the Program activities will be the School website.
The Program activities will be financially supported and the school buildings adapted for the disabled. The School will organize seminars and conferences to raise students’ awareness of cultural diversity to combat xenophobia and racism.
