Students of the University of Lomza at a BIP in Estonia – a week of intensive development and international experience

Seven students from the University of Lomza participated in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) hosted by Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences in Estonia. The mobility offered an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge, develop professional competences, and build international connections.

The programme consisted of intensive workshops and hands-on sessions focused on employability, self-presentation, and personal branding. From the very beginning, participants worked on enhancing their interpersonal skills while exploring tools for career planning and effective self-promotion. An important part of the programme was also an introduction to Ülemiste Smart City – a modern business and technology ecosystem that students had the chance to experience in practice.

During the sessions, students explored the recruitment process from the employer’s perspective, analysing key elements of a strong CV and effective interview preparation. Special attention was given to different types of interviews, including screening, technical, behavioural, and portfolio-based interviews. Participants also learned about Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and their role in filtering candidates in today’s job market.

A significant focus was placed on communication skills and building a professional digital presence. During workshops, students developed their own presentations and self-introduction speeches, receiving continuous feedback from both trainers and peers. They also worked on elements such as video CVs, professional profiles on platforms like LinkedIn, and conscious management of their digital footprint. One of the highlights of the programme was a session with an innovative startup from Spain, whose representative presented their business concept and shared insights into operating in an international environment. The session concluded with a Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly with an industry practitioner.

Throughout the week, students also took part in various networking activities, creating opportunities to build relationships and exchange experiences with peers from different countries. The programme concluded with personal branding presentations, where each participant introduced themselves in a concise and professional format. Each presentation was followed by constructive feedback supporting further development. The mobility ended with a certificate ceremony recognizing participants’ engagement and achievements, followed by a closing meeting held in a more informal atmosphere.

Participation in the BIP in Estonia proved to be a valuable experience for students of the University of Lomza, enabling them to strengthen their professional skills, gain insight into the international labour market, and establish meaningful connections for the future.
