The Erasmus+ program opens up opportunities for students and staff of the University of Lomza that go far beyond the standard framework of mobility. It enables the establishment of cooperation with partners located in various parts of Europe, often in places that are difficult to access, yet highly inspiring from an educational and cultural perspective. Such experiences allow participants to develop competences that cannot be gained by remaining solely within a local environment. One example of such an initiative is the establishment of cooperation with Finca la Fuente, an agritourism center located in Gran Canaria.
This place specializes in organizing events related to yoga, meditation, and broadly understood ecology and sustainable living. At the same time, the center is open to hosting students for international internships, offering them the opportunity to gain experience in an international and interdisciplinary environment. In November 2025, a representative of the University of Lomza, Zbigniew Dziekoński from the International Relations Department, traveled to Gran Canaria. The purpose of the visit was to explore the potential for cooperation and to lay the foundations for long-term activities. During the stay, it was possible to gain an in-depth understanding of the center’s operations, its specific character, and the organization of its daily work.
Meetings were held with the support of the owner and founder of the center, Agata Szyplińska, who presented the possibilities for developing cooperation and the scope of activities in which students may become involved. The discussions made it possible to define key aspects of future mobilities, including the scope of interns’ responsibilities, expected competences, and the fields of study from which students will be particularly welcome. The outcome of the visit is the initiation of a permanent, cyclical cooperation planned to be implemented in each semester. Thanks to this, students of the University of Lomza will gain access to a unique internship destination, combining professional development with the opportunity to explore alternative models of work, life, and education.
