For the tenth time, the University of Lomza served as a key logistics centre for Szlachetna Paczka, one of Poland’s most recognised nationwide charity initiatives. During the Weekend of Miracles, held on 13–14 December 2025, the University once again became a hub of coordinated support, bringing together students, academic staff, administrative employees, and members of the local community around the shared goal of providing meaningful help.
Szlachetna Paczka is a long-established social programme that supports families facing difficult life circumstances by delivering carefully prepared aid packages tailored to their real needs. Each year, the initiative mobilises thousands of volunteers, donors, and partner institutions across the country, combining solidarity with practical action.
This year, students of the University of Lomza prepared a support package for a single mother raising three children. Working closely with University staff, they ensured that the assistance addressed the family’s actual needs rather than offering symbolic help. As in previous editions, the University provided its facilities to serve as a logistics warehouse, while the academic community actively participated in volunteer activities.
Volunteers included both academic teachers and administrative staff, as well as students involved in the Student Government. Together, they coordinated the collection, preparation, and distribution process, ensuring that the initiative ran smoothly and efficiently.
Long-term involvement in initiatives such as Szlachetna Paczka reflects the University of Lomza’s commitment to social responsibility and its strong ties to the local community. Participation in the programme is a practical expression of the values the University upholds—solidarity, empathy, and cooperation—demonstrating that academic institutions play an important role not only in education and research, but also in building a more inclusive and supportive society.
