In June 2025, Mr. Norbert Arszułowicz, MA, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Lomza, participated in a teaching visit under the Erasmus+ programme at Ala-Too International University in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The aim of the visit was to develop academic cooperation, exchange teaching experiences, and explore the culture of the host country.
As part of the mobility programme, meetings were held with the authorities of the partner university – including the Vice-Rector, the Dean, and representatives of the International Relations Office. During the official presentation, Mr. Arszułowicz showcased the academic activities of the University of Lomza, with a particular focus on the research conducted at the Department of Economics and Finance. Potential areas of cooperation in the fields of economics, finance, and management were discussed, including possibilities for joint research and publications.
An important part of the visit involved teaching workshops on management and entrepreneurship, delivered to students and academic staff. The sessions were met with great interest and sparked inspiring discussions. Preliminary plans for future bilateral mobilities within upcoming Erasmus+ programme editions were also outlined during the visit.
The cultural aspect of the programme was equally significant. The representative of the University of Lomza had the opportunity to experience the natural and historical richness of Kyrgyzstan – including excursions to Ala-Archa National Park, Lake Issyk-Kul, and the historic Burana Tower. A visit to the Supara Ethno-Complex offered a chance to taste traditional cuisine and gain deeper insights into local customs and traditions.
The stay at Ala-Too International University also provided an opportunity to become familiar with local teaching and academic standards. Observing thesis defenses and participating in university events allowed for a better understanding of the institution's operations and students’ engagement in academic life.
The Erasmus+ mobility of Mr. Norbert Arszułowicz represented an important step toward the internationalisation of the University of Lomza. It served as an opportunity to present the scientific potential of our university, initiate valuable academic contacts, and gain inspiration for further international cooperation initiatives.
