At the turn of June and July, representatives of the University of Lomza – Arkadiusz Nieciecki, Assistant at the Faculty of Information and Technology Sciences, and Jacek Bochenko from the IT Systems Department – visited Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. The aim of the visit was to exchange experiences and strengthen international cooperation.
The delegation from Poland was hosted by Prof. Paata Gogishvili, Director of the Computer Center at Ilia State University. During the visit, our staff members learned about the history of the Georgian university and its technological facilities, particularly those of the Faculty of Business, Technology and Education.
A key part of the visit was a series of meetings with academic staff, during which our representatives presented the research profile of the Faculty of Information and Technology Sciences at the University of Lomza. They also promoted the national academic portal “Ludzie Nauki” (“People of Science”) and invited Georgian researchers to collaborate. One of the highlights was the visit to the FABLab studio, where both staff and students work on innovative technological projects.
The visit also provided an opportunity to experience local culture, culminating in a tour of the Ethnographic Museum in Tbilisi. The University’s delegation also visited the Cminda Sameba Monastery near Mount Kazbek, the Georgian Palace of Arts – Museum of Cultural History, and Turtle Lake. We hope that this visit will open up new opportunities for future joint research and educational projects.
