From May 26 to 30, 2025, students from the Faculty of Computer and Technology Sciences at the University of Lomza took part in an intensive startup programme hosted by Ventspils University of Applied Sciences in Latvia. Marcin Busma and Arkadiusz Cwalina (Automation and Robotics), together with Dawid Kucisz and Jakub Jurkiewicz (Computer Science), represented our university as part of the international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP).
The programme was divided into two stages: an online preparatory phase and a week-long in-person session in Ventspils. During the virtual meetings, participants worked on startup concepts, developed prototypes, and carried out initial validation — all to prepare for the demanding on-site phase, which kicked off with great intensity and required strong teamwork.
While in Latvia, the students refined their business models, developed monetization strategies, tested MVPs, practiced communication skills, and prepared investor presentations (pitch decks). Throughout the process, they were supported by mentors and industry experts who shared their knowledge and experience.
The programme culminated in a Demo Day — a final event where participants pitched their projects to a professional jury. The presentations offered valuable opportunities for constructive feedback, networking, and — most importantly — gaining hands-on experience in building and scaling a tech startup.
