On April 9, 2025, Erasmus+ students and a Fulbright scholar from the University of Łomża visited Maria Konopnicka High School No. II in Łomża. The group included students from four countries – Turkey (Dicle Ates, Yusuf Kut, Mehmet Tahir Aktas, Fatih Bozkurt), Albania (Anisa Ademi), Georgia (Lizi Pipia), and the United States (Jesse Funtleyder) – all studying at the University of Łomża during the 2024/25 academic year.
During the meeting, the students not only shared information about their countries but also presented elements of their national cultures. Lizi from Georgia showcased traditional costumes and dances, mentioning the intriguing custom that a wedding is considered unsuccessful if no brawl breaks out. Dicle from Turkey highlighted the city of Diyarbakir, home to the second-largest wall in the world, second only to the Great Wall of China. Anisa from Albania emphasized that Albania remains an undiscovered tourist "gem," making it an ideal vacation destination, while Jesse from the United States gave insights into daily life in New York City, including encounters with celebrities and local safety.
During the visit, a representative from the University of Łomża's International Cooperation Department introduced students to the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program, helping the high school students better understand the benefits of international educational exchange.
This event marked another step in building lasting cooperation between the University of Łomża and local schools, contributing to the personal and academic growth of young people while fostering global competencies. We hope to have more opportunities for similar visits in the future.
