From January 28 to 30, 2025, Dr. Paweł Zając, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Łomża, and Dr. Ewa Jakubiak, Vice Dean of the Faculty, participated in a "Staff Mobility for Teaching" visit under the Erasmus+ program at the Faculty of Law of Trnava University in Trnava.
During their stay, they had the opportunity to meet with the faculty authorities - Prof. Marianna Novotná, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Michaela Moravčíková, Vice Dean for International Cooperation. They familiarized themselves with the university’s organizational structure and took part in two academic seminars, where they delivered lectures to faculty members and law students.
The first seminar focused on the relationship between the state and the Church in Slovakia and Poland. Dr. Zając introduced the key legal principles defining the status of churches and other religious organizations in Poland, as well as their financing mechanisms. He also addressed issues related to freedom of conscience and religion in the context of anti-discrimination law. Dr. Michaela Moravčíková presented on the legal status of religious organizations in Slovakia.
The second seminar, titled "Round Table on Law and Security – Issues in Central Europe," explored legal aspects of national security. Dr. Jakubiak outlined the legal foundations of state security and highlighted key paradigms in building national resilience to internal and external threats. The discussion also covered topics related to social and energy security.
During the visit, potential avenues for further collaboration between the faculties were discussed, including the organization of joint academic initiatives and the exchange of students and faculty members.
