SMK International Week 2024, which took place from November 12 to 15 in Vilnius, was held under the theme “Meaningful Science & Business Synergies: Rethinking Education in a Changing World.” Organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the event provided a valuable platform for international collaboration and the exchange of scientific knowledge. Professionals and academics from various countries gathered to discuss the intersections of science, business, and education in the context of contemporary global challenges.
Among the participants was Dr Paweł Arnista from University of Łomża. He attended the event to engage in discussions on the latest trends in science and business, as well as to explore potential areas for international cooperation. Dr Arnista participated in two key academic conferences: “Trendsmakers Forum 2024: Where Thought Meets the Future” and “Societal Interactions: Rethinking Modern Issues.” These conferences offered insights into the newest trends in science and technology, as well as a reflection on contemporary societal challenges. Through these discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how scientific innovation can contribute to solving global issues, and how businesses can be involved in these solutions.
A key part of the event was the “Where Business Meets Science” program, which included a visit to Technopolis, an innovative business center in Vilnius. The center, which houses over 1,200 companies and 35,000 employees, showcases how science and business can be integrated effectively in a rapidly changing world. The visit illustrated the essential role of these synergies in fostering innovation and driving economic growth.
The event also provided ample networking opportunities. Through various workshops and collaborative sessions, participants exchanged ideas and best practices in international education, forming new academic and professional connections in the process.
SMK International Week 2024 proved to be a highly valuable event, combining intellectual exploration with practical insights into the synergies between science, business, and education. It highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges of a rapidly changing world, marking an important step in strengthening global scientific and academic networks.
