From September 23 to 27, 2024, staff members from our university participated in the International Week "Cultural Diversity in Higher Education," organized by our partner institution, Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Edyta Lichomska-Milewska and Dr. Tadeusz Kowalewski from the Department of Social Work, along with Dr. Ewa Małgorzata Chludzińska from the Department of Pedagogy, conducted lectures for social work and pedagogy students.
During this week, our staff took part in numerous presentations, seminars, workshops, and international conferences focused on cultural diversity in education. Key topics included the integration of students from different cultures into European universities, the development of teaching methods that support inclusiveness in higher education, and the role of student and faculty mobility in promoting intercultural understanding.
The program included presentations on support for international students and workshops addressing cultural challenges, the role of technology in promoting diversity, and intercultural communication. The week concluded with visits to various faculties and fruitful discussions.
Participation in the International Week proved to be extremely valuable in terms of both academic development and establishing new international contacts.
The topic of cultural diversity inspired participants to continue research in this area and collaborate with scholars from other countries, which could contribute to enriching the educational offerings of our faculty and the University of Lomza.
