Hanami, the time of cherry blossoms, is one of the most important festivals celebrated in Japan. This exceptional event, known worldwide, symbolizes the beauty and transience of nature, which is why this island nation is often referred to as the "land of the cherry blossoms." Dr. Eng. Grzegorz Rubin from the Faculty of Information Technology and Science at the University of Lomza traveled over 8500 km to visit Kanagawa University in Yokohama.
The cooperation between the University of Lomza and Kanagawa University began in 2020 and has since been continuously strengthened through mutual study visits by representatives of both academic communities.
The several-day study visit by Dr. Eng. Grzegorz Rubin, carried out under the Erasmus+ program, aimed to deepen the collaboration between the universities and discuss potential opportunities for joint research projects as well as the exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of modern information technologies.
During the five-day mobility, our university representative had the opportunity to participate in seminars on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, led by Prof. Tanaka and Prof. Yamamoto, and workshops on blockchain technology conducted by Dr. Hashimoto. Dr. Rubin also had the chance to give lectures to Japanese students, sharing his knowledge and expertise.
In addition to the university visits, Dr. Eng. Grzegorz Rubin had the opportunity to explore Japanese culture by visiting Tokyo, Yokohama, the temples in Kyoto, and the Samurai and Ninja Museum.
Our representative's visit to Kanagawa University was not only an opportunity to develop academic cooperation but also to foster mutual understanding and build bridges between our cultures. We are convinced that strengthening the relationship between our institutions will bring mutual benefits and contribute to further enhancing the quality of education for our students.
