On 1 May 2004, Poland became a member of the European Union, and three months later the Lomza State University of Applied Sciences, now known as the University of Łomża, opened its doors. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU, our University has prepared a series of events, including one organised by the Department of International Cooperation.
As part of the European Funds Open Days, a special event was held on 11 May 2024 in the Rubikon Student House at 16A Wiejska Street, where international students presented traditional dishes from their countries. This year's Erasmus+ participants from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan prepared tastings of their national specialities, such as Kyrgyz Plov, Spanish Tortilla de Patatas, Italian Tiramisù and Focaccia, Georgian Khachapuri and Turkish Mercimek Köftesi, Kısır, Çökertme Kebab, Şekerpare, Çiğköfte and Lahmacun.
Students also gave presentations on the culture and culinary traditions of their countries. The organisers provided music characteristic of the countries presented, creating a unique atmosphere of international integration. The two-hour event was enthusiastically received and provided an excellent opportunity to experience different cultures and tastes.
We cordially invite you to next year's edition!
