One of the most popular integration way is travelling, so on the 24th of October the students went on a trip to Vilnius. This trip has already become a tradition, as it is organized every winter semester for new incoming students. The group had a chance to experience local culture and learn about the historical connotations between Poland and Lithuania. Despite bad weather students visited the most significant places like Gates of Dawn, Hill of Three Crosses, St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, Vilnius University and Uzupio –students’ and artists’ district, the most colorful one in the city.
Even though the trip was very short and intensive it was a great chance to integrate for the whole group.
They came to our University from Portugal, Spain, Turkey. Young, ambitious, bringing positive energy to Lomza's academic life, the energy of national culture.
A group of twenty eight foreign students of the Erasmus + program has started a new academic year at Lomza State University of Applied Sciences.
Although they are with us only a few weeks, they have already learned about the university structures and the 600-year history of the city and over a thousand-year history of the town on the Narew River.
Student exchange is an important element of international cooperation, makes our university globally recognizable and for the students from abroad is the most important signpost - says Lilianna Rywacka, head of the International Cooperation Department. During the Adaptation Week, Erasmus students meet with Faculty and Departmental coordinators, receive class schedules and participate in the basics of the Polish language course, so that their loose and warm: thank you, I'm sorry, good morning, the inhabitants of Łomża can hear every day.
Students from Portugal, Spain and Turkey take classes at the following faculties: Computer Science, Food Sciences, Nursing, Dietetics and Physical Education.
They were accommodated in the Rubicon Student House, a modern and fit-for-the-look facility, in which there is a fitness room, a gym, a multi-purpose volleyball, tennis and basketball court.
The International Relations Department organized students to visit the city, university campus and a cozy integration evening during which foreigners presented their countries, cities and universities.
